How to make a delicious Brussels Sprouts Gratin

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 200c/400f (gas mark 6).
  2. Spray a frying pan over a medium-high heat with spray oil. Add the chopped bacon and fry until golden. Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. Spray the frying pan with a little more spray oil. Add the sliced Brussels sprouts and saute for 2-3 minutes, or until slightly softened.
  4. Add the garlic, stock, and salt and pepper. Saute for 5-7 minutes, or until the stock has reduced and the Brussels sprouts are tender.
  5. Transfer the Brussels sprouts to an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle with the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped bacon.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, use whole milk instead of chicken or vegetable stock.
  • If you don’t have Parmesan cheese, you can use Gruyère or another type of hard cheese.
  • You can also add other vegetables to this gratin, such as broccoli, carrots, or mushrooms.

Serving suggestions:

  • Serve this gratin as a side dish with roast chicken or pork.
  • It can also be eaten on its own as a light meal.
  • I hope you enjoy this recipe!
